I have been suffering from a serious case of writer’s block. I have a lot of ideas I want to flesh out but I feel like each time that I sit down to write I stand up 45 minutes later with twelve characters typed into Word.
I think the culprit is the heat. Our air conditioner has been broken for over two weeks now and the average high temperature for Sacramento in that span has been 98 degrees. Right now our thermostat reads 88°. At least now, if I do have kids, I can hit them with “back in my day!” stories about both walking to school uphill in the snow and the injustices of the lack of air conditioning.
Anyway, I was starting to really stress about my next post. If you’ve ever had an essay due and no thesis in mind, you can probably remember how the stress of having nothing to write about only makes the whole process worse.
