When I launched I’ve Ben Thinking in December 2020 with a post about how I likely ended up on the government’s flight watchlist, I had no idea how much I would enjoy writing for an audience. One year later, I have joined a writing mentorship program, conducted interviews, surveyed my peers, and designed IBT merch. Writing for me is both a creative outlet and professional aspiration, and while I have yet to make any money from my writing (aside from $14.32 in IBT sticker sales!) maintaining this Substack has forced me out of my literary comfort zone and exposed me to all different types of writing styles.
